Stored XSS via unescaped widget title
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Aleksei Polechin Archives Calendar Widget 1.0.15 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via widget titles. The plugin stores an administrator-supplied widget title and renders it into a page without neutralizing executable markup; upstream identifies the title as the injection point but does not publish the affected function. Administrator privileges are required to save the payload, and a separate visitor must load the affected page for the script to run in that visitor's browser context.
