Unauthenticated code execution via logout suffix bypass
Published Jun 24, 2024 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Improper access control in Axiros AXESS 4.x and 5.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through protected API endpoints. AXUserManager treats any request URL ending in logout.html as authorized, so adding ?logout.html lets the anonymous nobody account reach protected endpoints. The exposed csvlog endpoint can then write a Python web shell into the live API tree, giving unauthenticated network attackers operating-system command execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
