CVE-2024-33894Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Full system access via root-privileged services

Published Aug 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 18, 2024

Excessive privileges in HMS Networks Ewon Cosy Firmware 21.x before 21.2s10 and 22.x before 22.1s3 allow attackers to gain full system access. The firmware launches all tasks and services as root rather than assigning least-privilege service accounts. Compromise of any one service is required and immediately confers root-level control over the gateway and its data.
