Admin access via forged SOAP authentication token
Published Apr 28, 2024 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Authentication bypass in Delinea Secret Server before 11.7.000001 allows remote attackers to access its SOAP API as the Admin user. SSWebService.asmx accepts a forged AuthenticationTicket because ThycoticDataProtector uses a hardcoded key, user ID 2 selects Admin, and omitting oauthExpirationId skips expiration validation. The endpoint must be network-reachable, and successful exploitation grants access to protected vault resources exposed through the SOAP API.
