CVE-2024-33849Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Privileged credential recovery via hard-coded AES key

Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Credential exposure in CI-Out-of-Office Manager 6.0.0.77 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to recover a privileged service password. ci-oof.xml stores the service username and password as Base64-encoded AES ciphertext, while ci-OOF.exe embeds the decryption key and prefixes the IV to each decoded value. Read access to the deployment share is sufficient; the recovered account has Exchange ApplicationImpersonation access and can hold domain-administrator rights.
