CVE-2024-33820Public exploit

Command execution via unchecked WLAN SSID copy

Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A3002R firmware V4.0.0-B20230531.1404 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via a crafted SSID. A formWlEncrypt subroutine copies the unbounded wlan_ssid value with strcpy into a 36-byte stack buffer after enforcing length only in the browser interface. The published procedure first authenticates to the local management interface and raises wlan_idx to 5; exploitation can execute commands or crash boa.
