Unauthenticated file deletion via traversal-filter bypass
Published May 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
Arbitrary file deletion in DedeCMS 5.7.114 allows remote attackers to delete server-accessible files through mail_file_manage.php. The handler strips ../ sequences from filename but leaves backslash traversal intact before passing the resulting path to its deletion operation. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful requests can remove files writable by the web-server account and interrupt the site.
