Administrator account takeover via omitted password parameter
Published Oct 30, 2024 · Updated Oct 30, 2024
Unverified password change in LevelOne WBR-6012 firmware R0.40e6 allows remote authenticated users to seize administrator access. The handler at 0x800e6944 processes the Pa HTTP POST field as a new password even when the current-password PA field is absent. An authenticated web session and network access to the management interface are required, although Talos reports that CSRF or IP spoofing can bypass that session gate.
