Local code execution via writable DLL search path

DLL hijacking in Veritas Backup Exec 21.0 through 22.2 allows local users to execute code through the Windows DLL search path. Backup Exec loads DLLs by search-path resolution rather than a fixed trusted location, allowing a planted library in a searched directory to run. The required gate is a non-administrator Windows account that can create files in a DLL search-path directory, after which the planted code runs in the loading process.
