Script execution via unsanitized translation key
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024
Cross-site scripting in angular-translate 2.19.1 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute script via a crafted translation key. The translate directive renders its key without applying the configured sanitization strategy, allowing markup in the key to reach the page. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled directive-key content and user interaction; the original project disputes that translation keys were documented as XSS-safe.
