Authenticated code execution via unrestricted FreeMarker class resolution
Published Apr 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Template injection in xuxueli XXL-JOB before 2.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted FreeMarker template. The admin service renders classpath templates with FreeMarker's unrestricted class resolver, allowing ObjectConstructor expressions to instantiate classes and invoke runtime execution. Valid credentials and the ability to modify a rendered template are required; successful exploitation runs code in the admin service context.
