Stored script execution via unsanitized user names
Published Apr 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Online Library System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser. The controller accepts the user_name value from an edit POST and stores it in the database without neutralization, allowing the saved markup to execute when rendered. An authenticated session and a subsequent user view are required; resulting script execution is confined to the viewer's browser context.
