Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped settings
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Advanced Post List 0.5.6.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through administrator settings. The plugin stores administrator-supplied setting values without sufficient input sanitization and renders them without output escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or installations where unfiltered_html is disabled; opening an injected page executes the stored script in a visitor's browser.
