Local privilege escalation via uncontrolled DLL search
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
DLL hijacking in Lenovo Personal Cloud before 2.3.0 allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges via a crafted DLL. The application resolves a required DLL through an uncontrolled search path and loads attacker-supplied code, but Lenovo has not identified the executable, library, or directory. A local low-privileged user must place the crafted library where the elevated application resolves it; successful loading runs code with the application's privileges.
