Arbitrary file placement via missing type validation
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in 8theme XStore Core 5.3.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to place arbitrary files on the server. The plugin upload path accepts attacker-supplied files without validating their type; public records do not identify the affected function or request parameter. Patchstack rates the path unauthenticated, while Wordfence requires subscriber access; code execution requires a server-executable upload.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
