Unauthenticated account takeover via unverified login email
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Improper privilege management in 8theme XStore Core 5.3.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over any WordPress account. The process_callback third-party login handler decodes attacker-supplied opauth data, trusts its email field, and resolves that address to a user. It then issues a WooCommerce authentication cookie for the resolved account without verifying the identity provider, so no account or interaction is required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
