Command execution via incomplete PHP extension blocklist
Published May 21, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
OS command injection in ILIAS 7 before 7.30, 8 before 8.11, and 9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The upload validators use a PHP-extension blocklist whose regular expression omits phar, allowing a PHP web shell to be stored under the web root. Administrative access is required to add phar to the upload allowlist; exploitation runs PHP and operating-system commands with web-server privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
