Stored script execution via organizational-unit XML import
Published May 21, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stored XSS in ILIAS 7.20 through 7.29, 8.4 through 8.10, and 9.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject script via XML upload. The organizational-unit import accepts a crafted title from XML under weaker validation than the interface, and the GUI renders the stored title without output encoding. Administrative privileges are required to import the XML, and the script executes when another user views the affected organizational-unit title.
