Authenticated command execution via server-side prototype pollution
Published Jul 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Server-side prototype pollution in HPE Aruba Networking EdgeConnect SD-WAN 9.3.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. HPE identifies the web-based management interface but has not disclosed the affected endpoint, object property, or unsafe merge operation. Administrative access to the management interface is required; successful exploitation executes operating-system commands and can completely compromise the gateway.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 8.0.x.x: all builds are affected and are out of maintenance. <=<=8.0.x.x
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 9.0.x.x: all builds are affected and are out of maintenance. <=<=9.0.x.x
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 9.1.x.x: 9.1.11.0 and below <=<=9.1.11.0
- Affected versionversion=ECOS 9.2.x.x: 9.2.9.0 and below <=<=9.2.9.0
