Admin deauthentication and privilege escalation via crafted cookies
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
Improper session handling in Fortinet FortiIsolator 2.3.0 through 2.4.4 allows attackers to disrupt admin sessions or gain write privileges. The GUI authentication mechanism accepts crafted cookie state without properly expiring sessions or enforcing read-only authorization. Remote attackers can deauthenticate logged-in administrators without credentials, while remote authenticated users with read-only access can obtain write privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
