Systemadministrator escalation via exposed Track Viewer credentials
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Credential exposure in Siemens SIMATIC RTLS Locating Manager before 3.0.1.1 allows local users to extract server credentials. The Track Viewer Client insufficiently protects the credentials it uses to authenticate to the server, enabling their extraction. Authenticated local Manager access is required; the recovered credentials grant the Systemadministrator role and its broader access rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
