Authenticated code execution via permitted PHAR upload
Published Apr 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in CubeCart before 6.5.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted .phar file. The file manager's filenameIsIllegal() denylist omits the .phar suffix, so it accepts a PHP archive containing attacker-controlled code. Administrative file-manager credentials and user interaction are required; successful exploitation runs commands as the web-server account.
