Stored script execution via unneutralized Logout setting
Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in CMSimple 5.15 allows remote attackers to run arbitrary script or HTML through the Logout language setting. The Settings menu saves a crafted Logout value in the Language section and renders it without neutralizing script-related markup. Exploitation requires the Language settings to be reachable and a user to load the resulting interface, where the payload executes in that browser session.
