CVE-2024-33369Network attack vector

Code execution via unconstrained download filename

Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Path traversal in Plasmo RPShare 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files and execute code through a malicious download. DownloadTask.getFileNameFromConnection fails to confine a server-supplied filename to the resourcepacks directory, so traversal components redirect the file write. Exploitation requires a victim to open a specially marked book and approve the download in the client interface; the Paper server plugin is unaffected.
