CVE-2024-33344Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via firmware upload

Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Command injection in D-Link DIR-822 firmware before 1.05 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands via a firmware upload. The ftext function in upload_firmware.cgi passes attacker-controlled upload data to a shell without neutralizing command elements. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants command execution with the router service's privileges.
