Protection mechanism failure in Fortra Digital Guardian Agent 7.9.4 through 8.1.0 allows local users to expose USB data via altered metadata. The Windows Removable Media Encryption component fails to enforce encryption after a user modifies metadata on the USB device. Physical access and low privileges are required, and the effect excludes data already encrypted on the device.
