Code execution via data-URL iframe rendering
Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Typora 1.0.0 through 1.7.0 allows attackers to execute code when a crafted Markdown document is rendered. The live Markdown preview renders an iframe whose data:text/html URL embeds a script payload without neutralizing the active content. The payload must be placed in a Markdown document processed by the desktop editor; successful exploitation runs script in its rendering context.
