CVE-2024-3330Network attack vector

Code execution via crafted Analyst files

Published Jun 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Code execution in Spotfire Analyst, Server, and for AWS Marketplace allows remote authenticated users to run code via malicious Analyst files. Spotfire processes attacker-crafted Analyst files, but the vendor has not disclosed the faulty parser or operation that turns file content into code execution. Attackers need low-privileged read/write access; the Windows client path also requires another person to open the file, while Web Player and Automation Services run code under their service accounts.
