Admin-level stored XSS via user names
Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Stored XSS in Microweber 2.0.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through user name fields. The admin user editor stores unneutralized HTML from the First Name and Last Name parameters, and the users module later renders it as markup. Administrative access is required to plant the payload; JavaScript runs in a browser that loads the users view, enabling access to data and actions available to that browser session.
