Stored script execution via rendered backup filename
Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 13, 2025
Stored XSS in Microweber 2.0.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted backup archive filename. The backup restore workflow accepts a media filename containing an HTML event handler and later renders it without neutralization in the admin file views. Administrative access is required to upload and restore the modified archive; opening either affected file view executes the payload in the administrator's browser.
