Remote code execution via unchecked cookie length
Published Jun 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack buffer overflow in ASUS RT-AX88U firmware 3.0.0.4.388_24198 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted cookie. The connection_state_machine fails to validate the cookie field's length before copying it into a fixed-size buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code on the router.
