CVE-2024-33220Public exploit

Privilege escalation via unrestricted driver IOCTLs

Published May 22, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Privilege escalation in ASUS AI Suite 3 3.03.36 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through crafted AslO3_64.sys IOCTL requests. The driver permits low-privileged callers to map physical memory and read or write I/O ports and model-specific registers through DeviceIoControl without restricting caller privileges. Local low-privileged access is required, after which the exposed kernel operations grant high-privileged code execution and direct access to sensitive system state.
