Authenticated SQL injection via unfiltered category ID
Published Apr 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Computer Laboratory Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database data. The view_category.php handler uses the id GET parameter without proper filtering in its category lookup, allowing appended SQL, including a time-delay expression, to reach MySQL. Access to the staff-only administrative category view is required, and exploitation affects records available to the application's database account.
