Wi-Fi service interruption via ESP IE over-read
Published Oct 7, 2024 · Updated Oct 7, 2024
Buffer over-read in WLAN host communication in Qualcomm Snapdragon Auto chipsets allows remote attackers to interrupt Wi-Fi service. The firmware over-reads memory while parsing an ESP information element in a crafted beacon or probe-response frame, producing a transient service interruption. No privileges or user interaction are required; reported impact is limited to availability and the interruption is transient.
