CVE-2024-33039

Memory corruption via unvalidated PAL service handles

Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 3, 2024

Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon Audio allows local users with high privileges to corrupt memory through PAL service calls. The PAL service accepts a caller-supplied random handle without validating it before dereferencing the associated pointer. Successful exploitation compromises confidentiality, integrity, and availability within the affected service context; Qualcomm does not report code execution or a cross-boundary privilege gain.
