CVE-2024-3302Network attack vector

Client memory exhaustion via unlimited CONTINUATION frames

Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025

HTTP/2 denial of service in Firefox before 125, Firefox ESR before 115.10, and Thunderbird before 115.10 allows remote attackers to exhaust memory. The networking code processes an unlimited sequence of HTTP/2 CONTINUATION frames without bounding the resources allocated for the unfinished header block. A malicious server must induce an affected client to connect and can consume its available memory until client service is interrupted.
