CVE-2024-32997

Local service interruption via binder driver race

Published May 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Race condition in the binder driver module in Huawei HarmonyOS and EMUI allows local users to interrupt device availability. Huawei has not published which binder-driver operation is improperly synchronized or how competing execution reaches the race. Exploitation is local; the public record establishes an availability impact but does not distinguish a hang, crash, reboot, or shutdown.
