CVE-2024-32991

Availability loss via improper permission verification

Published May 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Permission verification flaws in Huawei HarmonyOS and EMUI allow attackers to reduce availability through the wpa_supplicant module. Huawei has not published the specific permission check or untrusted operation that fails inside wpa_supplicant. Affected releases are HarmonyOS 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 3.0.0, 3.1.0, 4.0.0, and 4.2.0 and EMUI 12.0.0, 13.0.0, and 14.0.0; exploitation requires adjacent-network access without authentication or user interaction, and the exact form of availability loss remains undisclosed.
