Device disruption via improper sharing permission verification
Published May 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper input validation in Huawei HarmonyOS and EMUI allows local users to disrupt availability through the system sharing pop-up module. Affected releases are HarmonyOS 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 3.0.0, 3.1.0, 4.0.0, and 4.2.0 and EMUI 12.0.0, 13.0.0, and 14.0.0; Huawei has not disclosed the faulty operation or rejected-input path. Exploitation requires local access and user interaction, and published evidence does not distinguish whether disruption causes a hang, crash, or reboot.
