CVE-2024-32929

Local privilege escalation via GPU driver use-after-free

Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Use-after-free in the Pixel GPU Driver in Google Android before the 2024-05-05 patch allows local users to elevate privileges. The gpu_slc_get_region function in pixel_gpu_slc.c uses memory after it has been freed while retrieving a GPU cache region. A local execution path is required, but no additional execution privileges or user interaction is needed; successful exploitation raises privileges on an affected Pixel device.
