Improper certificate validation in Google Nest devices allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read selected Google cloud requests. Affected request paths disable libcurl's CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER option, so the client does not authenticate the cloud service's certificate. Any host on the traffic route can impersonate the endpoint without device credentials or user interaction and read affected request data; no integrity or availability impact is reported.
