Local code execution via installation parameter race
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Race condition in Tenable Nessus Agent 10.6.3 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code during Windows installation. A race window permits installation parameters to be modified while the installer is using them, but Tenable has not identified the specific parameter or check-use sequence. Authenticated local access and interaction with an installation in progress are required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code on the host.
