CVE-2024-32919

Local privilege escalation via LWIS type confusion

Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Type confusion in the LWIS kernel component in Google Android allows local users to escalate privileges without user interaction. The lwis_add_completion_fence function in lwis_fence.c accesses a completion-fence resource through an incompatible type. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability on affected Pixel devices.
