Local privilege escalation via uninitialized avcp data
Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 8, 2024
Use of uninitialized data in the avcp component of Google Android allows local users to elevate privileges without user interaction. AcvpOnMessage in avcp.cpp processes data before it is initialized, causing the privileged component to operate on unintended state. A local low-privileged execution context is required; successful exploitation grants higher privileges, enabling access to protected data, modification of system state, or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
