Session compromise via unescaped metrics filter
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in the Sidekiq Web UI 7.2.0 through 7.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript via the metrics filter. The metrics.erb view inserts the substr parameter into an HTML input value without escaping, so quotes and script markup break out of the attribute. A user must open the crafted URL while authenticated to the Web UI; the script then runs in that origin and can act with the user's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
