CVE-2024-32861

Local privilege escalation via writable CouchDB executables

Published Jul 16, 2024 · Updated Jul 21, 2025

Incorrect permissions in C•CURE 9000 3.00.3 and earlier allow local users to escalate privileges through the CouchDB executable directory. The installer grants non-administrator accounts Full Control and Write access to C:\CouchDB\bin, allowing replacement of executables. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and an installation with optional C•CURE IQ Web or C•CURE Portal; replaced code runs with the CouchDB service privileges.
