Unauthenticated shell access via exposed ADB
Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Improper access control in HP Poly CCX Series firmware after 8.0.2.3267 and before 8.1.3.1301 allows remote attackers to obtain a shell. The firmware build leaves Android Debug Bridge listening on TCP port 5555 by default and accepts connections without authentication. An attacker with adjacent-network access to that port can enter an ADB shell, read device-accessible data, and execute commands on the phone.
