Authenticated file download and deletion via unvalidated filenames
Published May 6, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Path traversal in Brevo for WooCommerce 4.0.17 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to download or delete arbitrary files. The get_file_contents and delete_attachment functions pass attacker-controlled file names to filesystem operations without validating that the resolved paths remain within an allowed directory. Editor-level access or higher is required; successful use exposes file contents and can remove files accessible to the WordPress process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
