Subscriber-level data modification via unchecked AJAX handler
Published May 30, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in i-magazine AG Yumpu E-Paper publishing 2.0.24 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify data. The ajax_handler function processes subscriber-initiated AJAX requests without checking the caller's capability before uploading and publishing PDFs or replacing the configured API key. A valid WordPress account with subscriber-level access is required; exploitation can publish attacker-selected documents and alter the site's Yumpu integration configuration.
