Availability disruption via uninitialized OffloadAMRWriter scalar
Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Use of an uninitialized variable in OffloadAMRWriter in ASR Falcon/Crane before CP01.057.067 allows remote authenticated users to disrupt availability. OffloadAMRWriter leaves a scalar field unset and consequently consumes an arbitrary value retained from earlier computations. Exploitation requires high privileges and a network path to the modem; ASR does not disclose whether the resulting interruption is a hang, crash, reboot, or shutdown.
